If you love outdoor adventures, you are definitely on the right page!
What could be better than embarking on a new mission to explore?
Our world is so amazing and diverse, with nature offering us breathtaking places to visit, in particular, our beloved New Zealand, with its mountains, hills, cliffs, forests, rivers, lakes, waterfalls, glaciers, caves, and beaches.
Hiking has always been the best way to enjoy nature’s gifts, explore hidden places, and reach mountain heights. But how many lifetimes would it take to check out all these incredible places? I think I found a solution!
With the progress of technology and development, the world has welcomed a new invention: the eBike. Who could have thought that a bicycle could reach a new level? With just a powerful battery, an eBike becomes a great helper for exploration.
New Zealand is the ultimate outdoor playground, with plenty of trails for walkers, hikers, runners, and bikers. It’s an open door to new opportunities—eBiking! Just a short drive away, you can embark on an eBike adventure.
Here’s what you need to know about cross-country eBiking in New Zealand, especially on the South Island.
First, it’s better to have a full-suspension eBike to ensure a smooth and enjoyable ride on bumpy terrain.
Second, consider the size of the bike’s battery. Depending on the distance, terrain, your riding skills, and your weight, you might need to carry a second battery. For example a person with 170-175cm Height and 75kg weight can manage a 50km ride with a 600W battery (several hills). But our tall friend (193cm, 110kg) had to carry an additional battery.
Finally, be prepared for all weather conditions and potential hazards, as you never know what might happen out there. Note that in many areas, there is no phone reception.
Cross-country eBiking has opened up new opportunities for me! A track that I would normally hike for a couple of days while carrying a heavy backpack can now be explored in just a few hours. Isn’t that amazing?
